Carrier, or the next evolution in frames

Codogno(Lodi) 30 April 2009

A new product designed for CNH doubles as a structural member of the cab and a module frame. It's the Carrier, developed by MTA engineers to meet a specific need of CNH and ensure straightforward application to the Group's tractors.

Carrier is the next-generation module frame, accommodating up to 14 modules - as compared to 5 modules maximum in conventional MTA frames - and as many as 4 different Electronic Control Units. The cab soft trim sits direct on the carrier, whereas the receptacles for closing the access doors to relays, fuses and diodes are incorporated in the top section. A unique, new feature of this design is that frame section and module frame section are integrated into a single element, which is entirely manufactured in-house at MTA - just like module frames - with great advantages in terms of installation during machine assembly. Among the modules manufactured by MTA, the Carrier can accommodate: mini, uni and maxi fuse holders; mini and maxi relays holders and diodes holders. These modules are all provided with secondary lock to guarantee maximum safety and a better performance and the allow maximum modularity and flexibility . When the project is up and running during 2009, the Carrier will be produced for agricultural and earth-moving machines of the New Holland, Case and Steyr brands of the CNH Group.
