We are looking for a Cost Engineering Team Leader within corporate purchasing department.
The role requires the product cost management for the given electronic, electromechanical, chemical, metallic commodities, and the tooling cost management for plastic and rubber injection moulding, metal stamping, die-casting tools.
In particular, the Cost Engineering Team Leader will:
- Be in charge of components and tools cost calculation during acquisition phase, in cooperation with commodity and project buyers;
- Cooperate with industrialization for the tools cost optimization during new product development;
- Cooperate with industrialization for the cost optimization of assembly lines and EOL benches during new process development;
- Visit supplier’s site to analyze the manufacturing process and cost structure;
- Provide benchmanrking of components cost to drive R&D for technical cost reduction implementation during new product development;
- Provide to the buyers the cost estimation for new components and tools for effective negotiations, even participating directly at discussions with suppliers;
- Analyse suppliers quotations and define target costs to be achieved by commodity buyers during final negotiations;
- Evaluate the cost impact and quotations consistency of product or process changes;
- Spread the cost analysis and total cost of ownership knowledge and mindset within the organization and coordinate a dedicated team within purchasing department.
Main requirements:
- Master degree in Mechatronics or Mechanical or Materials or Electric or Electronic or Industrial Engineering;
- Previous experience as Cost Engineer or Buyer (3-5 years) with interest to deal economics is mandatory; candidate with background in automotive Supplier Quality or Manufacturing Engineering willing to expand their professional outlook in commercial topics will be evaluated;
- Proven experience in automotive field dealing with tools, assembly lines, mechanical or electronic or electromechanical products;
- Knowledge in cost simulation tools as Siemens Teamcenter Product Cost Management or former Perfect Procalc;
- Fluent English language and Italian; nice to have other foreign language;
- Required background from tier-1 international automotive companies or tier-2 midsize commodity or tooling firms.
