SMT&THT

MTA's electronic division is a highly qualified production site. The high process quality standards it has reached over the last few years place it at the forefront in the electronics industry.
The whole production area is ESD free, (ElectroStatic Discharge free), i.e. equipped with special devices that prevent the buildup of electrostatics on people.
A highly advanced tracking system has been put in place in the production department. Cutting edge hardware and software systems like those used by world leading electronic component manufacturers ensure traceability for each individual component installed in each product. Printed circuit boards are assembled in two steps. The first step uses the SMTprocess (Surface Mounting Technology).  During this process, several components are mounted on the printed circuit board. At present, there are 3 SMT lines, one of which is dedicated to small runs and prototyping. The overall throughput capacity is up to 160,000 components per hour, and all three lines are certified for lead free processes. This means soldering occurs without the use of lead in accordance with international standards. The second step is the THTprocess (Through-Hole Technology), that uses assembly lines for conventional components such as capacitors or choke coils, that frequently require a combination of different assembly techniques. Assembly lines are fully automated and equipped with 3 laser spot soldering machines and 1 selective multi-wave soldering machine, a latest generation machine used by a few select manufacturers in Italy. Advanced end-of-line control systems - including a new X-ray machine - guarantee process control and the quality of the assembled PCB. Assembly is followed by a special treatment that protects certain components from water and moisture to meet certain OEM specifications.
