MTA, a leading Italian developer and provider of innovative electronic solutions in various fields of application, together with the Swedish manufacturer SKF have recently developed an innovative product, the Electronic Parking Brake.

t is a smart actuator designed for a broad range of applications, mainly in agricultural machines and utility vehicles and specifically developed to improve certain key features of vehicles, such as safety, driving comfort and fuel economy. The Electronic Parking Brake is a full-featured product capable of handling emergency situations and assisting the driver under all driving conditions thanks to such sophisticated features as Automatic Apply, Hill Holder and Drive Away. The Automatic Apply feature kicks in when the driver leaves the cabin with the key set to off in the ignition lock. Hill Holder and Drive Away ensure the utmost comfort on steep gradients. Such features installed on work vehicles greatly affect productivity, reducing operating costs. This smart solution also offers improved fuel economy, reducing the loss of braking efficiency thanks to optimized disk spacing, with great benefits for the environment and significant savings for users. Brake lever and cable way have been eliminated, making for less noise inside the cabin and improved ergonomics, which allows a more rational layout of operator seat and controls. Another plus is ease of installation, which gives application engineers ample freedom when choosing a location for the actuator in the vehicle and facilitates assembly at the manufacturer's plant.
